While the journalist in me is kinda doing the dance at having being one of the few on the Internet who carried the rumors of this story before the official release came out today, the gamer in me wonders about the future.
Anyway, here it is. Bungie and Microsoft have split. Evolved past each other, if one must use sappy Dr. Phil-speak in this context. Both Bungie and Microsoft / XBox released the news today.

To quote from their press release – “Bungie and Microsoft Corp. today announced a plan for Bungie Studios, the developers of Microsoft’s “Halo” franchise, to become a privately held independent company, Bungie, LLC, in which Microsoft will hold a minority equity interest. ”
